Joseph Wilson is a jazz pianist that's been perfecting his craft for over 17 years. His inspirations include his personal mentor Cyrus Chestnut, as well as Herbie Hancock, Thelonious Monk and Chick Corea. His piano style has Afro Cuban, Latin, and straight ahead jazz influences.
He has played at venues such as the Kennedy Center, The Mann in Philadelphia, U Street Music Hall, and numerous clubs in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. In addition to being a pianist, Joseph moonlights as a producer Dj under the name jeauxsmeaux (Joe Smo), and has over 130 original songs on SoundCloud released within the last 5 years. In addition to an extensive SoundCloud presence, he recently released his first album, "New Eyes", on Apple Music, Spotify, and other mediums for streaming and purchase. Joseph also plans to be a May 2017 graduate of Howard University where he has marched trombone in the Howard University Showtime Marching Band, played piano in the Howard University Jazz Ensemble, and served as President of the Zeta Iota Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America Inc. He is excited to continue working with DuPont Brass and keep stretching his musical horizons.
